Skiing in Morzine
The Gets have a combined 120 kilometers of slopes, accessed by 26 chairlifts, 3 cable cars and 14 drag lifts. There are 5 green runs, 29 blue runs, 28 red runs and 9 black runs. The skiing here is renowned for its picturesque tree-lined runs, with plenty of gentle tracks for beginners and intermediates. More advanced skiiers can use the lift system to explore the Portes du Soleil ski area – it encompasses eight French resorts of Abondance, Avoriaz , La Chapelle d’Abondance, Châtel , Les Gets , Montriond , Avoriaz , St Jean d’Aulps and six Swiss resorts of Champéry, Champoussin, Les Crosets, Morgins, Torgon and Val d’Illiez. Free shuttles also connect the center of Morzine with all these resorts. Circuits (taking approximately 2hrs 30min) organized to explore the various areas. Itineraries (blue, red or black runs) are marked by a specific mountain animal such as a bear, white rabbit, jackdaw, ibex or reindeer.
Feeling sporty … you’ll be spoiled for choice
Morzine is a sportsman’s paradise in any season. If you do not ski, yet still want to be active, try show shoeing, ice climbing, ice skating or take a dive into the Lake Montriond chilly. If swept through the snow, you could take a horse-drawn sleigh ride or go to the husky dog sledding. In Morzine itself there is a cinema, a bowling alley, and plenty of sports shops to browse in. Get your fill of local produce at the Morzine market (held on Wednesday mornings), or buy presents for those back home in the town’s gift shops.
Summer brings a host of exciting possibilities. Morzine offers mountain bikers some of the world’s best mountain biking field, with around 380kms of marked trails with varying degrees of technical skill required. Road cyclists also enjoy 15 routes to explore. With such variety on offer, Morzine has been a repeat for the Tour de France and a host to the Mountain Biking Championships. You can paraglide, horse-ride, donkey trek, hike (800km of marked trails), rock climb or fish, and for those who are drumming their fingers waiting for the first snows to arrive, so they can ski again, there is the new sport of Mountain Boarding, which uses special skateboards with large wheels to reproduce the thrills and sensations of snowboarding … without the need for snow! In the Parc des Dereches You can enjoy a whole outdoor swimming complex with a heated Olympic pool, it also has a great range of entertainments for children.

Dining out is a great pleasure in Morzine, as there are many restaurants of all types and cuisines. Those with teenagers can enjoy the burger bar before going on to settle for an evening of Savoyard gastronomic delights, such as Berthoud, Diots or a delicious fondue. There are also discos, cinemas, bars and an ice rink.
Nightlife in Morzine
“Morzine is not a stupid priced resort and the nightlife is great,” said a reporter. Most of the resort’s is the lively size of Pleney’s Mas – Gold ‘Bar Street’ as it’s known – between the pleney lift and the tourist office.
The après-ski scene is also a crowd pleaser. There is a lot of things to be had, but there are also plenty of bars and restaurants, and there are more options, with options ranging from traditional Savoyard cuisine to fine dining .

The hotel is located in the heart of the city of Geneva, close to shops, restaurants and shops. But the buzzing nightlife in Morzine also makes a realistic way to earn a year-round income.
The closest and most convenient to Morzine is Geneva , located 100 km (around 1 1 / 4hrs) away. From here, you have a number of different methods of transportation to choose from, including minibus transfers, buses and trains. If you can not get to Geneva, the next best options are Chambery (1.5hrs), Lyon (2.5hrs) and Grenoble (3hrs) all of which are served by a number of major airlines.
Rail travel is simple too, so you can get to Cluses, some 28 kilometers from Morzine. From here you can get a bus transfer onto Morzine.
